Grief & Music Therapy
Nova Scotia Grief Alliance Educational Offerings
Music has a way of being there for us – even in our hardest moments. On June 23, 2025, the Nova Scotia Grief Alliance hosted an insightful webinar featuring Meaghan Jackson, Certified Music Therapist and Registered Counselling Therapist (Candidate). Meaghan guided participants through the ways in which music therapy can support individuals and families navigating grief. Through rhythm, melody, and presence, she demonstrated how music can create space for emotional expression, connection, and healing when words alone are not enough. The session highlighted music therapy as a clinical practice that uses music intentionally to address non-musical goals – offering comfort, reflection, and support during times of loss. Thank you to everyone who joined us for this moving conversation on the healing power of music.
