Amarens Matthiesen is a Research Associate with the Dalhousie Faculty of Medicine Palliative Care Research Team. She supports a research program led by Professor Mary Ellen Macdonald, which focuses on death and grief literacy, using community-based research approaches and ethnographic methodologies. Amarens brings a research interest in children’s rights to decision-making in healthcare, and has practiced as a Child Life Specialist in children’s hospitals.
