Standing With Communities. Shaping Better Care.
Our advocacy is guided by the voices of individuals, families, caregivers, community organizations, and professionals who understand what compassionate care looks like in real life.

Our Advocacy Approach
NSHPCA advocates through collaboration, evidence, and strong community connections. We work alongside communities, individuals with lived experience, care professionals, government officials, and system partners to identify gaps, elevate community priorities, and advance solutions that reflect Nova Scotia’s diverse needs.

Our Focus
NSHPCA advocates for timely, person-centred hospice palliative care across all settings, while supporting families, caregivers, and care providers. We promote equitable access to care, particularly for rural, remote, and underserved communities, and advance grief-informed policies and programs that recognize grief as a normal part of life and strengthen compassionate community responses.

Centring Community Voices
Effective advocacy starts with listening. NSHPCA engages communities through consultation, partnership, and shared initiatives to ensure decisions are grounded in lived experience, dignity, and compassion.
