Our Priorities for Hospice Palliative Care in Nova Scotia
NSHPCA and participating hospice organizations have submitted a joint letter to the Government of Nova Scotia calling for increased investment in hospice beds, home care, specialized community-based palliative care teams, and improved reporting on access to services.
The submission outlines recommendations to help ensure Nova Scotians receive compassionate, equitable care when and where they need it.

Sustaining Federal Leadership in Hospice Palliative Care through Aging with Dignity.
The Canadian Hospice Palliative Care Association (CHPCA), with the support of its provincial partners, the British Columbia Hospice Palliative Care Association, Palliative Manitoba, Hospice Palliative Care Ontario, New Brunswick Hospice Palliative Care Association, Nova Scotia Hospice Palliative Care Association, and Newfoundland and Labrador Hospice Palliative Care Association, has issued a joint call to federal and provincial ministers of health urging renewed funding through the Aging with Dignity agreements, with hospice palliative care explicitly identified as a priority.
This national effort is supported by corresponding provincial letters and advocacy initiatives, encouraging governments at both levels to work together to sustain and strengthen hospice palliative care services across Canada. Together, these efforts aim to build on previous investments, improve access to care, and ensure hospice palliative care remains a priority in future funding agreements.
