What We Do.
NSHPCA exists to help Nova Scotians live well, grieve well, and care well together. We focus on three core areas:
- Hospice & Palliative Care
- Advocate for access to high-quality hospice and palliative care across the province.
- Support and partner with local hospice organizations to ensure families and communities receive the care they need.
- Provide education and resources to professionals and caregivers navigating end-of-life journeys.
- 悲伤与情绪健康
- Lead initiatives like Healing Pathways and Grieving Well that create spaces for people to acknowledge, understand, and move through grief in healthy ways.
- Provide funding to community-based groups to deliver grief support and emotional wellness programming.
- Refresh how we talk about grief—affirming that all grief is normal, and every experience deserves recognition and compassion.
- Community Engagement & Education
- Deliver webinars, workshops, and learning opportunities for professionals and the public.
- Share resources that guide individuals who are grieving, professionals seeking tools, and communities building compassionate networks of support.
- Build partnerships with healthcare, government, and community organizations to create a stronger, more connected system of care.
