In Loving Memory of Daniel MacLellan..
Proudly born in ‘The Blocks’ of Pitt Street in Caledonia, Danny spent most of his life at the family home in Table Head where he raised his kids and loved his neighbours.
‘Big Dan’ was an avid sports fan. He didn’t miss an inning of his beloved New York Yankees, watched his Green Bay Packers win the Super Bowl and was a dedicated NASCAR follower. Danny enjoyed local fastball, the Sydney Sooners and loved to cheer on his grandson Tyler during hockey games at the Bayplex.
He spent countless hours reading hundreds of books related to war, history and world leaders. He loved politics, especially talking shop over tea with his MLA and MP.
Danny loved to reminisce about the glory days of Devco. He was so very proud of his decades of coal mining and his heart was filled with memories of the men he worked beside every day.
Danny felt blessed to spend time at the Renal Dialysis Unit of the Cape Breton Regional Hospital. He was comforted by the tremendous staff that made him smile.
Dan was a great and happy man who is forever missed by all who knew him. His family remembers him fondly and keeps his memory alive with stories and reminiscence. He would have been very proud of his children and grandchildren, and would have loved spending time with the younger grandchildren he did not get to meet. His spirit lives on in all of us.
