Whycocomagh, Nova Scotia

Our dad grew up on the Whycocomagh Mountain and learned to play fiddle there while growing up on a farm . Later in life, he worked as a blaster on construction sites, and when work was available did forest or fishing work. He married his lovely wife/our mom Annie Bell. Although our dad died at a young 36 years, his sense of humour, love of fiddle music, and sense of family is threaded through us to his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Dad loved a good square dance but nothing compared to his Montreal Canadians! Those Saturday night hockey games could bring out the best or the worst in dad depending on how they played. And his friends knew how to get him riled if they were Boston or Toronto fans especially during playoff season.
We are grateful to have had him a part of us and try to remember him through small acts of kindness, and sharing his memory and stories. Msit nokamaq, All my relations.
