There are so many adjectives one could use to describe our feisty daughter, but courageous is the one that rises to the surface. First diagnosed with cancer at age 15, she survived chemo treatments and the teen age angst of hair loss and when the cancer returned two years later, the chemo, radiation and bone marrow transplant. When the cancer returned twenty years to the month, she accepted the terminal diagnosis with courage saying “I always knew this day would come.” With her sense of humour intact we laughed together in her final days more than we cried. Her spirit lives on in her two beautiful boys…the best gift she could leave us.
